Skills assessment
All skilled visas (189, 190, 491, 186 Direct Entry) require a positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation from a designated assessing authority — for example ACS (ICT), Engineers Australia, VETASSESS, CPA Australia, or a trades authority.
Why it matters
- It is a threshold requirement — without it, a skilled application fails.
- The correct authority depends on your exact occupation (ANZSCO).
- Assessment outcomes can affect your points (skilled employment, qualifications).
How we help
- Confirm the correct occupation and assessing authority.
- Map your qualifications and experience to the assessment criteria.
- Prepare and review your evidence before lodgement.
