Migration glossary
- Expression of Interest (EOI) (also: SkillSelect EOI)
- A non-binding submission in SkillSelect indicating you want to be considered for a skilled visa. You must be invited before you can lodge a skilled visa application.
- MARN (also: MARA number)
- Migration Agents Registration Number — the unique number identifying a registered migration agent with MARA. Ours is 1795282.
- Permanent Residence (PR) (also: Permanent visa)
- A visa status allowing you to live, work and study in Australia indefinitely, with access to Medicare and a pathway to citizenship.
- Skills assessment
- A formal evaluation by a designated assessing authority that your qualifications and experience meet the standard for your nominated occupation. Required for most skilled visas.
